To successfully PUBLISH a workflow, it is essential to define both a trigger and an action. Without these components, the workflow can only be saved but not published.
Configuring the Event Start Date
The Set Event Start Date action within a workflow allows users to precisely determine when an event will begin, including the specific day, date, and time. By setting this, users can optimize the use of Wait events, which temporarily pause contacts based on the scheduled start time. This ensures that contacts receive communications at the most relevant and impactful time, leading to better engagement and enhanced event management.
Action Type Options
Within the Event Start Date action, there are various types available, each serving different purposes. These include options such as selecting a custom field, setting a specific date and time, or choosing a particular day.
Custom Field Selection
When opting for the Custom Field method, users can assign a custom value or contact to establish the Event Start Date.
Selecting Custom Fields
By clicking on the tag icon, users can choose from available custom fields, which may include date or text types, to designate the Event Start Date.
Specific Date and Time
The Specific Date/Time option allows users to pinpoint an exact date and time for the event, which can then be linked to Wait steps within the workflow. Additionally, this option supports sending reminders before the event at various times and dates.
Specific Day of the Week or Month
With the Specific Day option, users can choose between the current day of the week or month and define parameters like Monday through Friday or specific days of the month along with an exact time for the event.
