Rich Link & Event Previews in Communities

Modified on Tue, 18 Aug at 12:24 AM

Sharing content and events in Communities just got more interactive with rich previews that keep members engaged without taking them away from the conversation.
When members paste a supported link or mention an event in a post or comment, a rich preview is automatically generated, giving everyone more context at a glance.
What's New?
Rich Link & Video Previews
Paste a supported link such as a YouTube or Loom URL into a post or comment, and a rich preview is generated automatically. Supported videos can be played directly from the feed without opening a new tab.
Rich previews work across both posts and comments. No additional setup is needed - just paste the link, and the preview appears.

Interactive Event Previews
Mention an event in a post to automatically generate an interactive event preview card. The card displays key details such as event name, date, time, price, and status. This helps member to see everything upfront.
Members can register or RSVP directly from the preview card without navigating to the Events page. Events become a natural part of community conversations instead of living in a separate section.

Why This Matters
Previously, shared links appeared as plain text and events required members to navigate away from the feed. With rich previews, members get immediate context - they can watch a video, check event details, or register for an event without leaving the conversation.
This reduces friction, keeps members in the feed longer, and makes community discussions more engaging.
Notes
  • Rich link previews are generated automatically for supported platforms like YouTube & Loom.
  • Event previews display the event name, date, time, price (if applicable), and registration status.
  • Members can register directly from the event preview card.
