Google Ads - Multiple Ad Groups and Ads

Modified on Tue, 27 May at 11:00 AM

 What's New?
  1. You can now add up to 10 ad groups in a single Google Ads campaign, rather than being limited to just one.

  2. Each ad group supports up to 3 ads, enabling structured A/B testing directly within the campaign flow.

  3. A dedicated ad group configuration layer has been introduced, allowing you to input a base website URL and generate keyword suggestions based on it.

  4. Users can now select keyword match types (phrase, exact, or broad) for more precise targeting.

  5. The campaign creation flow has been restructured into three clearly defined levels: Campaign > Ad Group > Ad, making the process more intuitive and modular.

  6. You can now duplicate, delete, or add ad groups and ads using the ellipsis (⋮) menu during setup.

  7. A new “Review” screen allows you to toggle between campaign elements before publishing, providing a comprehensive preview of all configurations.

  8. Reporting has been significantly enhanced - you can now track performance metrics not only at the campaign level but also for each ad group, each ad, and even individual keywords.

  9. All ads within the same ad group must share a common base URL, which is now set at the ad group level - maintaining consistency while still allowing for unique display paths.

  10. These changes lay the groundwork for future enhancements, such as multiple ad sets in Meta Ads and AI-powered optimization.

 How to Use?
  1. Create a new campaign from scratch or use a template.
  2. At the Campaign level, set your bid strategy, daily budget, and audience/network preferences.
  3. At the Ad Group level, enter a website URL to generate keyword suggestions or manually add keywords with desired match types.
  4. At the Ad level, configure creative elements including up to 15 headlines, 4 descriptions, and the display URL.
  5. Use the ellipsis icon to manage ad groups or ads - duplicate, delete, or add as needed.
  6. Publish the campaign and access granular performance insights from the Ad Manager Statistics screen.
  7. Check the
    campaign performance
     on the statistics screen.
  8. Click on the campaign name to see the
stats on various ad groups, ads and keywords
which are part of that campaign.
Why It Matters:
  • Smarter campaign structures with clear segmentation between products, services, or audience groups.
  • Efficient ad testing through multiple ad groups and ads within a single campaign.
  • Better performance visibility with breakdowns by ad group, ad, and keyword.
  • Seamless scalability for accounts and marketers managing complex advertising strategies.

What's Next?
  • Multiple Ad Sets and Ads in Meta Ads campaigns - parallel support for the Meta platform.
Notes:
  1. HighLevel Ideas/Changelog
    Campaigns must have
at least one ad group and one ad
     to be valid.
  2. Ads in the same ad group must share a
    common base URL
    .
  3. Legacy campaign flows, templates, and snapshots remain supported and compatible.
