In this article, we will cover the Subscription tab and how it works.
Please head into Payments > Then click on Subscriptions.
Please Note: Only subscriptions created via version 2 funnel order forms are listed on the Subscriptions page.
The ability to cancel subscriptions or initiate refunds will be added soon to manage subscriptions without needing to access Stripe.
What is listed on the Subscriptions page?
The list will contain all subscriptions created via 1-step or 2-step order forms in version 2 funnels, including:
- Payment Provider and Subscription ID
- Customer details
- Source of subscription creation
- Date of creation
- Subscription amount
- Subscription status
What is listed in the subscription details?
Subscription details include the payment provider details along with the source of subscription creation. It also includes subsequent transactions occurring in the subscription if the subscription was created through Stripe.
What does the status of the subscription represent?
Status | Stripe Status | PayPal Status |
---|---|---|
Trial | trialing | trialing |
Active | active | active |
Canceled | canceled | canceled |
Suspended | suspended | |
Failed | incomplete_expired | |
Incomplete | incomplete, past_due | approval pending, approved |
Unpaid | unpaid | |
Expired | expired |
The statuses have been categorized to correspond with Stripe and PayPal's status definitions.
Will these subscription statuses remain in sync with Stripe/PayPal?
For Stripe, the subscription status and payments received will stay in sync with what is happening in your Stripe dashboard. For example, if you cancel a subscription in Stripe, it will also appear as Canceled in your subscriptions list. All future payments received will sync with your Stripe dashboard.
For PayPal, however, subscription status and upcoming payments will not stay in sync. While the subscription entry will be created, it will not automatically capture future payments.
Will the Subscriptions page contain the list of subscriptions that were not created due to payment failure on the order form?
No, if the payment fails when making the first payment for a subscription upon submitting the order form, it will not be registered on the Subscriptions page. However, the contact will still be created in both 1-step and 2-step order forms for tracking purposes.
What is not contained on the Subscriptions page?
- Recurring templates created in the Invoices section
- Subscriptions created in the Memberships section
