What is a Canonical Link?

A canonical link is a tool used to inform search engines about the primary version of a webpage when there are multiple pages with identical or similar content. By establishing a canonical URL, you help search engines avoid treating duplicate content as separate pages, ensuring that the correct version is indexed and ranked. For example, if two different URLs display the same content, setting one as the canonical URL directs search engines to prioritize that version.

Here’s how you can add a canonical link to the SEO metadata of your website or funnel:

1. Open the Page EditorNavigate to your website or funnel’s page editor or builder. Look for the "SEO Meta Data" option in the top menu.

Troubleshooting and Common Questions

  • Why isn’t my canonical link showing?
Be sure that both the SEO metadata settings and the page have been saved properly. Additionally, review the URL to confirm there are no errors.

  • Can I assign more than one canonical URL to a page?
No, it's important to have just one canonical link per page to avoid confusing search engines.
